Stanley Dodson Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Stanley Dodson was a native of Garfield County, Colorado. He lived in Silt where he attended school, then attended CU Boulder for five years, graduating in 1941 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Stan began his career in the pipeline/construction business with Thompson Pipe and Steel Company. Stan served as both member and Chairman of the Highway Commission where he assisted in the design and construction of the first bore of the Eisenhower Tunnel. You will find his name on a bronze plaque at the mouth of the tunnel commemorating the work he and the Commission completed. Stan was also one of the founding members of the Glenwood Springs Rotary Club and a member of the local Elks Club. Stanley’s family is pleased to continue this scholarship in his memory.
Eligibility: In-district freshman students attending Colorado Mountain College on a full-time basis. Applicants from all campuses will be considered with priority given to students who are residents of Garfield County.
