Stanley Dodson

Stanley Dodson was a native of Silt, Colorado located in Garfield County. In 1941, he graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Civil Engineering. Stan then joined the Armed Forces as an Officer in the Navy. He began his career in the pipeline/construction business with Thompson Pipe and Steel Company before starting his own pipe supply distribution company, Dodson Engineered Products, Inc. The company is located near the CMC Spring Valley Campus turnoff. Stan served as both member and Chairman of the Highway Commission where he assisted in the design and construction of the first bore of the Eisenhower Tunnel. His name appears on a bronze plaque at the mouth of the tunnel commemorating the work he and the Commission completed. Stan was a founding member of the Glenwood Springs Rotary Club and Golf Course, as well as a local Elks Club member.
