Calaway Scholars
Knowing that there are deserving students who lack the means to attend college, Mr. Jim Calaway decided to create his plan for a special team of students who would get help achieving their goals. If you are a traditional or non-traditional student and thought you would never be able to go to college, this program may be just what you have hoped for. The most important characteristic we are looking for is your determination to get a college education and willingness to help yourself by working toward a brighter tomorrow.
Eligibility: Applicants must be the first generation in their family to attend college. Students must attend the Colorado Mountain College Roaring Fork Campus (Carbondale, Glenwood Springs, or Spring Valley) and be enrolled in at least six credit hours in a degree or certificate program. Recipients will be required to maintain a 3.0 GPA.
Award Amount: Up to $2500 per academic year based on financial need. Award will be disbursed in two increments – half in the fall and half in the spring semesters following selection. Academic achievement will be monitored during the year of award; any variation from requirements may result in loss of scholarship funding.
