Jackson Family Scholarship
The Jackson Family has been involved with CMC practically from day one. “Doc” Carter Jackson, DVM, was instrumental in developing the Farm and Ranch program in the mid 1960’s which eventually morphed into the Veterinary Technology program. Many CMC students rode with Doc Jackson as he treated livestock throughout the Roaring and Colorado River Valleys. The CMC connection continued when daughter Sandy joined CMC as an instructor with the Outdoor Semester in the Rockies program at the Timberline Campus in 1990. Dr. Jim Campbell and Sandy ran the OSR program until 2003 when Jim retired. They then moved home to the Jackson Family ranch in the Roaring Fork Valley. Sandy continued as an adjunct instructor teaching the following courses: Cultural Anthropology, Biological Anthropology, Archaeology, Southwest Field Exploration and Culture and Place Based Equity. She retired in 2017. Both Jim and Sandy remain keenly interested in CMC, its programs, and especially its experiential education courses. Sandy Jackson, MA
