Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter Scholarship
The Friends of the Aspen Animal Shelter (FAAS) scholarship was established to support students pursuing a degree in the Veterinary Technician Program at the CMC Spring Valley campus. In the United States, pet overpopulation results in the killing of millions of adoptable dogs and cats every year. Our mission is to help to combat this, through our partnership with ethical rescue groups and shelters in addition to our vigorous, wide-ranging spay/neuter program.
The FAAS Board of Directors funds medical expenses for all shelter animals at the Aspen/Pitkin County Animal Shelter. We underwrite neutering costs at over 25 veterinary medicine hospitals across the country as well as spay/neuter clinics in and out of state for those owners would not otherwise be able to afford these procedures. We recognize the importance of veterinary technicians as frontline caregivers to shelter pets of all kinds.
