Paul and Virginia Lappala Endowed Scholarship

Paul and Virginia Lappala were well known in the Carbondale area since their arrival in 1972. Besides his work in education, Paul was heavily involved in volunteerism in the community. Virginia was quoted as being a master teacher and actively volunteered as a tutor for students with reading disabilities. The many friends and neighbors of the Lappalas have established this scholarship in honor of all they gave to their community and to Colorado Mountain College.

Eligibility: Part-time, non-traditional students attending Colorado Mountain College Roaring Fork Campus locations (Carbondale, Glenwood, Spring Valley). Recipients must have completed at least six credit hours toward a degree or certificate program at Colorado Mountain College while maintaining a grade point average of at least 3.0.
