Steve Chesley Memorial Scholarship for CMC - Rifle
Steve Chesley helped to start the ceramics program at the CMC Rifle Campus over 30 years ago and continued instructing pottery there until his death. Although Steve loved all art, ceramics was his true passion. He enjoyed assisting students of all levels, but especially liked helping students who were just beginning to explore their interest in the arts. Steve tragically passed away in a mountain bike accident in the Fall of 2011. He never felt age should prevent anyone from exploring their passions, mentally or physically, and was extremely active throughout his entire life. His family hopes this scholarship will assist a student who is excited to explore his or her artistic ability.
Eligibility: Individuals attending the Rifle Campus who are in a declared degree or certificate program requiring classes with at least one ART course code. Students must be classified as in-district or in-state for CMC tuition purposes. Non-credit courses are not eligible for award. Students must demonstrate a minimum 2.75 GPA.
