Alice Peterson-Erickson Scholarship for Nursing

Alice Peterson Erickson became a registered nurse at Northwestern Hospital, Sioux City, Iowa, in 1912. Her parents were Norwegian immigrants and she married Swedish immigrant, Al Erickson, also in 1912. Alice spent her professional life affiliated with Northwestern and cared for family and friends as a private nurse. As a young woman in the early years of the 20th century, her education was essential to her career, providing her with financial stability and purpose.

Eligibility: Applicants enrolled or planning to enroll into the Colorado Mountain College Nursing degree program at Roaring Fork Campus. First preference will be given to returning adult learners.
