Michael Robert Gebhardt Scholarship for Avalanche Certification

This Scholarship is established by the Gebhardt Family and the Michael R. Gebhardt Memorial Fund in memory of Michael R. Gebhardt who was a resident of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, and formerly of Carmel, New York. Michael was an avid outdoorsman and NOLS graduate who was a firm believer in ongoing outdoor education, especially in the areas of avalanche awareness/certification and backcountry safety. This scholarship will honor Michael’s memory, and his love and respect for nature will be kept alive, while providing an avenue of education and certification for others.

Eligibility: Scholarship for students enrolled in the Avalanche Certification Program at the Colorado Mountain College Steamboat Springs, Summit Campuses (Breckenridge or Dillon), or Edwards Campus. Applicants must be classified as in-district or in-state for tuition purposes.

Award Amount: Amount of awards will represent cost of program tuition and fees; number of recipients will be based on funds available up to $300/year. Any funds not awarded will remain in account for disbursement in later year(s).
