Town of Vail

With this scholarship, the Town of Vail would like to recognize the service of law enforcement officer Brad Baldwin, who served the Vail Community for 25 years.
Brad began his law enforcement career in Rapid City, S.D., in 1984. Brad relocated with his family in 1988 to Gypsum and continued his career as a police officer with the Vail Police Department. His duties with the town of Vail included patrolman, field training officer, hostage negotiator, and driving instructor. Officer Baldwin proudly served the Vail community for 25 years. He honorably served in the United States Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. Brad was known for his sense of humor and his passion for helping others. He enjoyed pool, music, guitar, astronomy and, most importantly, family. Brad had exemplary integrity, humility and devotion as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, friend and colleague. He loved from deep in his heart and carried others close to the vest in all aspects of his life.
