Rosamond Perry Turnbull

Rosamond Perry Turnbull

Rosamond (Roz) Perry Turnbull believed strongly in education. She attended Colorado Rocky Mountain School and graduated from Colorado College. She later volunteered for, and supported the school lives of her four children. Beginning in 1974, she served as a member of the inaugural Community Advisory Board for the nascent CMC Carbondale campus. She loved both reading aloud and in-depth discussion on a wide variety of topics, and always sought to bring out the best in others through supportive interaction. While tutoring a Latina community member whose daughter wanted to be a nurse, Roz learned about CMC’s nursing program, and she decided to create a scholarship. Throughout her life she embodied a positive attitude to see the potential in people and help them achieve their goals and dreams.
