The Family of Bill and Barbara Hill

This scholarship was established by the late Bill Hill, an active community member in the cities of Steamboat Springs and Grand Junction, CO.
The Hill family moved to Steamboat Springs, CO in 1978. Bill became the executive director of the Yampa Valley Community Foundation and, in 1981, directed the founding of the Colorado Mountain College – Alpine Campus, Steamboat Springs. Bill was responsible for the CMC ski business programs, started Leadership Steamboat, a training program for young community leaders, and was active in the Rotary Club where he served as president in 92-93. He also taught business courses at CMC for 16 years. Bill retired in 1997. In 1998 he and his wife, Barbara, moved to Grand Junction, CO.
In Grand Junction Bill founded MACHO, Men Against Cancer Helping Others, served on the convention and tourism and Habitat for Humanity boards and was active in the Small Business Development Center, Meals on Wheel, and the Presbyterian Church.
